Approach

 Approach to writing

He truly believed if enough muck

Was thrown some would get stuck

Write enough words he thought

Even if it meant he fought

To find some brilliance somewhere

And so like carbon dating

All he needed was one shot

Out of a million hit the spot.

Natural selection is what it’s called

Even though the critics were appalled

Long after they were retired and dead

An occasional line would be read in bed.

History would be silent on the wasted

Words that lived and died unnoticed

All he needed was a diamond in the rough

Writing stuff can’t be that tough.

He thought.
